Ike's not a baby anymore

He looks like such a big boy compared to Baby Owen. Isn't Owen sweet, I need to see and smooch him more. Ike still has about 3 pounds before he's out of this car seat, then he really will be a big boy. So Sad. Stay small baby Ike, I mean it.

I hate to tell you this, but Ike has already outgrown that seat. Length is a factor too, not just weight. I can see his legs hanging off the end of the seat. There is an actual length they say, but I don't remember what it is; it may depend on the car seat. However, I do know that they say when their feet can kick the back of the seat of the car, they are too long for the infant carrier. I've let my kids go a little longer than they should sometimes too--first out of ignorance, then just because I didn't want to give up the convenience of the carrier type of seat. In any case, you should look into a convertible car seat, which is one that goes rear facing until they are at least 20 pounds AND at least one year old, then it can be turned around to forward facing. Good luck! We just got a new one a few months ago for Matthew--an Evenflo Titan Elite. He seems to like it okay.

Also, don't ever buy a used car seat, unless you know exactly where it's been. If a car seat has been in a car accident, it is supposed to be replaced (and insurance will cover it--that's why we got the new one we did) because it may be damaged internally without being able to tell on the outside. So when you see one used at a yard sale or resale shop, you never know whether it has been in an accident or anything; it may look fine on the outside, but you don't know what the inside is like. Anyway, that's what they say. I didn't know whether you knew all that, but I thought I'd pass along the info. just in case.

It is amazing how much they grow how fast, and how quickly we forget how little they once were. That little baby just looks so tiny. Were Ike and Matthew really ever that small? Cute pic.! :-)

Isn't that crazy! It is strange how fast they grow and we don't even notice until we compare them to other kids. Christian was out of his first car seat at 5 or 6 months. I guess that is what happens when you have huge kids!
