Nearly Crawling

Christmas day Ike decided to start getting up on his knees. He's not quite crawling but he can get around pretty quick now. I'm not ready for Ike to crawl, but I guess it doesn't matter if I'm ready, Ike is, so I better get there.

Baby Burrito

I swear he did this on his own. I had his favorite Elvis blanket spread out on the ground that he was laying on. He grabbed one edge and proceeded to roll. It was so cute I just had to run and grab the camera.

Morning chores

I figured out a way to entertain Ike while I fold laundry. He will probably end up staticy and the clothes will have snot all over them, but at least they will be folded right.

I cut baby boys hair! I shaved the sides into a wide mohawk. I think he looks so cute.

Family Christmas Party results in...

I slept pretty good

Day 2 of Operation Cry-out was a success. Ike woke up around 10:30pm but cried maybe a minute then went right back to sleep. He then woke up at around 5:30 ate and went back to sleep till 8am. Now if Ryan hadn't woken me up at 2:30 I would have gotten a pretty good night sleep.

Day 3 has just begun, wish me luck!

Operation Cry-out / Day one

I consider day 1 a success, Ryan however didn't sleep so well. Operation dirty-shirt lasted a couple of nights but he quickly went back to waking between 11:30 and 1:30. That wasn't working for me, so I decided we had to do the cry out method. He went to bed pretty good. Then at 1:30 he woke up, I would get him calmed down by rubbing his tummy, then he'd be quite for a few minutes then he needed to cry some more. He cried off and on for about an hour, but then he slept in till 8 am. I'm sure you are all very concerned with Ike and my sleeping situation, that's why I'm telling you all!

Ike loves it when Elvis sings to him. He gets a personal serenade every time I put him down to play on his favorite blanket.

6 month check up.

We went in for Ike's 6 month appointment. He got weighed and measured and got his first immunization shot, ouch. But Grandma gave him this cute Curious George band-aid so he's ok.
Here's the stats:
Height - 27 inches 69%
Weight - 15 pounds 9%
Head - 17.25 inches 50%
The doctor pretty much said he's perfect in every way.

Cuz'n Luv'n

Aren't they cute. I got Christian the same shirt I had for Ike. Brittany took these cute pics of the boys together. Christian is such a good big cousin to Ike. I think they are going to be good buds.

Ike is 6 Months Old

My babies getting so old. 6 Months, can you believe it. Makes me sad to think he's not going to be a baby much longer.

6 months is a whole new ballgame. He's eating real food, he's going to sit up and crawl soon. He can have a sippy cup. He recognizes certain people and reaches out for them. He's all smiles when he sees daddy. We couldn't love him more. But I'm sure we will anyways.

This is a 6 month outfit. I tried it on him because it's my favorite 6 month clothes, and it's still too big, but cute.

Brilliant!

I was talking to my friend Tiffany at work yesterday telling her how incredibly tired I was because I can't get Ike to sleep past 12:30 before he has to come into bed with me. She suggested putting one of my shirts I'd been wearing in his crib with him so he can still smell me and maybe think I'm sleeping next to him. I tried it last night. Miracle of miracles he slept till 6:30 am without a peep, and would have slept longer if I didn't need him to eat. Tiffany is my favorite person today. Thanks!

Gingerbread Fun

We started a little tradition of making Gingerbread houses with the kids last year for Christmas. Last year Christian was the only one there to eat all the candy. This year we had Jace hiding under the table eating whatever he could get his hands on. Ike trying to be distracted by Grandma and Grandpa, and Christian driving cars through the red hots. Needless to say, the adults did the decorating as fast as they could while the kids were distracted.

First Official Feeding

On the menu for this evening, Applesauce. I just happen to have one bottle of baby food from some shower or gift. Thanks to grandma I have this cool high chair that he had a lot of fun playing with the toys on it.

He seemed to really like it.

Sleep would be good

About 2 weeks ago I decided to move Ike to his room. He had been sleeping in a Pack-n-Play in our room. He was getting to the point where he was sleeping til about 5am 2 to 3 days a week and usually at least 3am most other days. Once we moved him to his room he's woken up at 1:30am every night. I'll feed him and try to put him down again but I usually just end up with him in the bed with us til morning. Last night was the exception he actually slept till 2:48am.
I have two things I'm going to start doing to see if maybe that will help.
1. I'm going to start feeding him solids.
2. I'm going to start putting him to bed an hour earlier.
If anyone has any other ideas I'm all ears.

Peek-A-Boo

How cute is baby boy? Ok so I should have put his pants on before I shot this but that was probably part of the reason he was so happy. That and he just took a big ol' ...

True Blue

The big game is today and Ike has chosen sides.
He's a BYU fan just like his dad and his Grandpa's. Go cougs. Ryan will be at the game cheering them on while Ike and I occasionally tune in while putting up the Christmas tree. Now when I think back a year ago I can think about being pregnant. We went to Ryan's friends last year where there were about even BYU fans and U of U fans. That was a good game, I'm sure this year will be exciting too.

Ike's First

Thanksgiving Meal! I decided thanksgiving would be a good time for him to have his first taste of real food, and what better food than some sweet potatoes. I was planning on waiting for the 6 month mark but Ryan's family was all there (minus Jason and Britt squish squish) and I knew they would be excited to watch his first spoonfuls.

Everyone gathered around for the feeding. Ike did a good job. And for dessert he got his favorite treat, his thumb. Didn't Ryan take great pictures.

Pick it up

For a change of pace I thought I would post a non Ike video. We (Ike and I) were watching Yo Gabba Gabba, my new favorite kids show, monday morning and this little cartoon came on. I've never seen a Ska kids song before. I just thought it was so cute I had to share. Enjoy!

Hangin wit da cuz'n

All the cousins together, except for baby buddha that's in Brittany's stomach still. Ike gets to be a big cousin to him. The boys had fun playing together and included Ike in a little fun on Christians cool race car bed.

Jace was wearing his cool spider man costume, with nothing on underneath which was a little disturbing but cute.

I can't wait for Ike to be able to play with his cousins. It will be sooner than I think I'm sure.

Best Buds

Jace's favorite thing to do with Ike is play 'this little piggy' with his toes. It's very cute. Jace is the first one to get Ike to laugh. I can understand, Jace is a pretty funny kid, very creative and smart, he's always coming up with new things to entertain the troops with. Even though he gets mad when people laugh at him. We can't help it Jace you are too darn cute.

I had to do a compare and contrast picture. Too bad Ike was in a blanket so you can't tell just how small he was. ah I miss his full head of hair, but it's coming back, it's just not as dark.

Sit down Ike

Ike's working on sitting up. He's not quite there yet but he's getting close. I took this video thinking he would fall down but he didn't he actually sat there for quite a while. I even got to take a few pics of him still sitting up. I'm ready for him to sit up but I want it to stop there, no crawling or walking around, my house and me aren't ready for it.

Ike looks like a big boy

I think these pictures make Ike look like a big boy. I'll have to look back once he's older and see if I was right. Looking at Jace and Christians pics around this age they are starting to look like they do now. I want him to stay little but I also can't wait to see what he's going to look like when he's older.

*I know you all think he spends all his time in this play thing but It's kind of hard for me to take pictures of him when I'm holding him. I can see the cute things he's doing when he's playing with pooh and friends.
