Easter 2013

Our neighbor decided it would be fun to have a neighborhood easter egg hunt. We all contributed some eggs and a little cash for the bigger kids eggs. We had a pretty good turn out and it was a lot of fun. Ian was in the "little kid" hunt which he cleaned up at. Then he helped his big brother look for the harder eggs. Afterwards everyone kind of gathered on our driveway to count up their loot. Wish the grass had been green, but I was just glad it wasn't too cold and windy.

Happy Halloween!

We had a fun time trick or treating this year. The weather was great. 60 degrees and no wind, it was a Halloween miracle.  Ike went as Boba Fett and Ian was a Skeleton.  Ian wanted to be a red ninja but after hitting every store that sold costumes in Sioux Falls and not liking any of them, he agreed to be wear the pajamas I found for $5. He wouldn't wear the black beeny though I thought made the outfit, oh well.

I really should keep better record of the things Ike says. Here's two examples from today.

"mom I'm going to be a nerd forever" He knows how to make his mom proud.

Ike: Mom, do you remember that Museum we went to in Omaha?
Me: Yeah the Children's Museum, that was fun.
Ike: No, the other one.
Me: The Church History Museum?
Ike: Yeah that one, can we go there again sometime.
I swear I have the oddest child.

Ike's first day of School: Kindergarten addition

 I can't believe the day has come. My little boy is growing up too fast. I'm sad I stopped blogging, I need to pick it up again.

 Here's the ubiquitous front door shot. Does he look nervous?

 He's going to miss his little brother Ian. I don't know what Ian and I are going to do all day without him.

 This was the popular shot of the day, had to stand in line but I think it's cute. Of course little brother had to jump in too.

 I think his backpack weighed as much as him. We miss orientation so all his school supplies are in there.

What a cute little stinker. Can't smile normal in a photo to save his life, but he's all mine and I'm going to miss him when he's at school all day.

Aunt Holly's visit to Sioux Falls

Ryan's sister Holly was our first visitor at our new house in Sioux Falls. We took her to the Butterfly house, the Falls Park and the Apple Orchard along with a few other places. These are some of the pictures she took of the trip. I'm so glad she got to come out and visit.

Last night in our home in Pleasant Grove

The Last night in our home in Pleasant grove turned out to be a pretty magical night. We ended up having all the cousins over to play, for I think the first and unfortunately the last time. I'll admit I was a little hesitant to spend the last night in my house with a lot of kids but I became nostalgic for the night before it was even over. I know my boys miss their cousins so much. It was so nice to have them so close and get to see them every Sunday if not more. Ike is making lots of friends out here but nothing compares to COUSINS.
